‘Next Level Amazing’ - BBC Introducing

Camens (pronounced "Kay-mens") are an up and coming indie band who have recently secured support slots with The Sherlocks and Scouting For Girls, as well as performing at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium!

They are amongst the new breed of northern band and more specifically the new bunch of talent hailing from Stoke-on-Trent. The band cite a string of mid-2000s guitar bands as influences and it’s immediately easy to see why. Lyrics full of honest, colloquialism-tinged storytelling and more hooks than a fisherman’s tackle box have helped them reel in new fans everywhere they go.

Camens launched in early 2017. The Debut single ‘Boys Will Stray’ was described by BBC Radio 6’s Gideon Coe as ‘A Well Recorded Strong Debut’. Tom Robinson’s Fresh on the Net team selected it in a top 25 tracks upon submission, as well as continual support from BBC Introducing’s Rob Adcock. This was followed by a busy festival season which took them north to Redcar Rocks, south to Boardmasters, east to Latitude and west to Green Man. Since then the band have gone on to attract more high profile fans including bastion of new music, Steve Lamacq, who recently played the latest single Danny DeVito on his BBC Radio 6 show in July. The band have continued to nurture this success securing support slots with The Sherlocks and Scouting For Girls as well as performing at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium.
